IPR Working Group Meeting
Thursday, 16 June
9:00-11:00
EU Chamber Office
The IPR Working Group has met twice this year and kept very active with a series of public speeches/interventions; multiple briefings for visiting EU Commission officials; providing input on the launch of a comparative IPR report; attending a recent conference in Seoul, Korea, for EU delegates to come together and coordinate a unified approach to IPR across Asia; developing a special EU Chamber questionnaire; and putting together a draft IPR Position Paper.
Join us for our next regular meeting on Thursday, 16 June, for an update on the latest and further brainstorming among members on future directions for the WG. Of particular note, the newest draft of the IPR Position Paper will be presented during the meeting and we hope to reach consensus among members on both the overall priorities and practical recommendations.
Our tentative agenda includes the following items:
* IPR Briefing to EU Trade Commissioner Mandelson (February 2005)
* Meeting with European Patent Office President (February 2005)
* Feedback from regional EU conference on IPR held in Seoul, Korea (Early June 2005)
* EU Chamber IPR Questionnaire (Throughout June 2005)
* Producing a comparative report, in collaboration with the EU-China Trade Project (Beginning June 2005)
* IPR Position Paper 2005: Priorities and Recommendations
* Major EU events related to IPR planned for the second half of 2005
Please confirm your participation to Keiju Shimizu on kshimizu@euccc.com.cn by Tuesday, 14 June, at noon. Don't hesitate to reply with suggestions for additional topics to raise during discussion.
