Dear Working Group Member,
We are delighted to invite you to the next Consumer Finance Working Group meeting that will take place on Wednesday 19th January 2011, starting at 08:30 at the offices of the European Chamber Beijing Office with the Shanghai office joining via video conference.
At this meeting we will have the honor and pleasure to welcome Ms. Li Hua, Partner at Gide Loyrette Nouel. She will focus and comment on the problem that Auto Finance Companies (AFC) face in china in relation to their commission scheme. The commission scheme used by AFC is universal in the consumption credit business in order to remunerate retailers. This business model has been approved by CBRC, however recent developments show that AFC have met certain problems and in some cases the commission scheme has been consider some way of bribery. This problem is mentioned in one of Key Recommendations of the European Chamber’s Consumer Finance Position Paper 2010/2011.
Tentative Agenda:
1. Presentation by Ms. Li Hua, Partner at Gide Loyrette Nouel: “Autofinancing and commercial bribery issues”
2. Government Engagement
