The book analyses the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) among transnational corporations and the challenges CSR poses to Chinese corporations and the Chinese government. The author defines CSR practices not just as ethical concerns but also as a modern kind of ??/SPAN>soft competitive advantages of corporation??/SPAN>.
For many transnational corporations CSR practices have become an explicit core value of their business practice. However, most Chinese corporations interpret CSR as charitable acts or as a burden on corporations while some Chinese government officials even consider CSR a trade barrier for Chinese corporations going global.
The book and the related presentation, based on the latest research findings on corporate responsibility from the Ministry of Commerce, answers the following questions;
