Noble Pinot Noir Wines Meet the Best of Shanghai Cuisine
Long considered one of the best varieties, if not the best, Pinot Noir makes some of the world's greatest wines. This noble grape is also one of the most versatile varieties in pairing with foods including classic Shanghainese cuisine.
EUCCC members and their guests are invited to taste sparkling wines, Champagne and red wines all predominantly comprised of Pinot Noir along with the sumptuous Shanghai dishes of Laojishi, one of Shanghai's most acclaimed and authentic Chinese restaurants.
In the casual warm confines that harken back to old Shanghai, members and guests will savour the synergistic pairing of great Pinot Noir wines with authentic Shanghainese dishes. This is an excellent opportunity to discover the sensational pairings that can be had with Chinese cuisine at a restaurant that is renowned amongst local epicureans for serving some of the most delectable cuisine in the city.
The sparkling wines of the evening start with the Tenuta S. Anna Cuvee Rose, a sparkling wine from Veneto made with 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Merlot, then the Louis Massing Brut Reserve Champagne with over 50% Pinot Noir and finally the classic Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose Champagne.
As the dishes turn to meat Pinot Noir red wines will be served including the exhilarating Tahuna Pinot Noir 2008 from New Zealand and Louis Jadot Savigny Les Beaune Clos des Guettes Premier Cru, 2002 from Burgundy. A surprise sweet wine shall conclude the evening.
As usual our wine expert extraordinare John H. Isacs will be guiding us through the evening, promising yet another unforgettable mixture of fine food, wine and company.

We require 24 hours notice for cancellations, no-shows who fail to cancel before this time will be invoiced for the event.
