In order to promote IATA E-freight in Shenzhen Airport, ICCS (International Cargo Centre Shenzhen), together with SZATA (Shenzhen Aviation Transportation Association) organized the first “E-freight Forum 2011 Shenzhen” on 16th February 2011 in Shenzhen InterContinental Hotel.
The guest speakers are from IATA Beijing, Lufthansa Cargo Frankfurt and Traxon Europe. Officials/representatives from the following authorities are also participating: Transport Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Central & Southern Regional Administration of CAAC, CAAC Shenzhen Safety Oversight Bureau, Shenzhen Customs, Port Office of Shenzhen Municipality, Shenzhen Airport Customs, Shenzhen Airport Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.
As known in the air cargo industry, E-freight is a very important initiative promoted by IATA. It is one of five “Simplifying the Business” projects being led by IATA to replace paper documents with electronic messages, and it has already been implemented by Beijing and Tianjin Airport in mainland China.
Accordingly, this “E-freight Forum 2011 Shenzhen” aims to provide knowledge and larger awareness on the current E-freight development to all parties involved in the import and export of air cargo. It is also a good platform to all actual and potential users of air freight transportation, shippers and consignees to gain a valuable insight on the necessity of reducing costs, improving transit speed and the reliability of airfreight, and thus it will connect Shenzhen airfreight service operators to the internationally developing practice towards paperless air cargo transportation.
The Forum is jointly organized by International Cargo Centre Shenzhen (ICCS), and Shenzhen Aviation Transportation Association (SZATA) and is supported by the Shenzhen International Airport and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Pearl River Delta. Guest speakers will be representatives from IATA Beijing, Lufthansa Cargo Frankfurt and Traxon Germany. Among the invited guests are Shenzhen Customs District, Shenzhen City Government, CAAC, Shenzhen Airport, local airline companies and freight forwarders.
European Chamber member companies who may be potential users of air freight transportation are most welcome to attend the E-Freight Forum.
