Position Paper Discussion and Chairs Election

Dear Human Resources Forum Member,
We are delighted to invite you to the next Human Resources Forum meeting to be held on Thursday March 17th 2011, starting at 16:00 at the European Chamber’s Office in Beijing.
At this meeting, we are very honored to have Director Yang Kai from China International Intellectech Corp (CiiC), a state-owned enterprise to talk about Strategic HR Management in China.
We will also begin our discussion on the preparation of the Human Resources Forum Position Paper 2011/2012 and the issues and recommendations that should be included. As the Position Paper forms the basis of our lobbying, members are strongly encouraged to consult widely within their own company in advance of the meeting so that they can then table such recommendations for discussion at this meeting. Last year’s Position Paper is attached for your reference.
Therefore, we recommend that you make note of these three key dates:
March 25 – Draft Recommendations
April 21 – First Draft
May 20 – Final Comments
Further, we will also hold our annual Forum Chairs election at this meeting. The Human Resources Forum Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group which includes a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Forum meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Forum is also highly valued (a general job description is attached).
Nomination of suitable candidates is highly encouraged. If you are interested in these positions, please send your bio and a letter of motivation to Ms Chanelle Hong at chong@euccc.com.cn by Tuesday March 15th.
As always, we welcome your suggestions for agenda topics and possible speakers for future meetings.

The Human Resources Forum is in the process of planning a unique seminar that addresses China-specific HR Policies, in the area of Compensation and Benefits.
