Dear PCR Working Group Member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Working Group Meeting which will be held today, on March 8 from 2 pm-3.30 pm in the EUCCC Shanghai + Beijing Office. The meeting is held in Shanghai, members in Beijing can participate via video-conference.
The updated tentative agenda is as follows:
Tentative Agenda
1. Presentation on “ Responsible Care in China “ by Mr. Ken Tsang, Senior Responsible Care Advisor AICM
2. Election of Chair/Vice Chairs of Working Group
3. Discussion on key recommendations for the Position Paper 2011/12
4. AOB and dates for next meetings
As you may know, the Chair and Vice Chair play a crucial role in driving the Forum which includes a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Forum meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Working Group is also highly valued (a general job description is attached).
Currently, Mr. Martin Kraemer (Lanxess) is a candidate for Chair, Mr. Jorn Seiero (Akzo Nobel) is a candidate for Vice Chair in Shanghai. In addition, Mr. Guillaume Lesage (Total) has kindly accepted to stand for another term as first Vice chair in Beijing, together with Mrs. Karin Xu (Merck).
Anyone else who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair is welcome and kindly requested to inform the Chamber, sykim@euccc.com.cn, by COB March 7, 2011.
In addition, we will also begin our discussions on the Position Paper for 2010/11. As the Position Paper forms the basis of our lobbying, members are strongly encouraged to consult widely within their own company in advance so that they can then table such recommendations for discussion at this meeting.
Please register your attendance at the next WG meeting by emailing Ms. Magali Van Coppenolle at mcoppenolle@euccc.com.cn until March 7, 2011 COB.
