Dear Working Group Members,
We are delighted to invite you to the next Aerospace Working Group meeting and 2011 Chairperson Election to be held on the 30th March 2011, starting at 10:30am at the European Chamber’s Office in Beijing.
At this meeting, members will be asked to discuss the recent pressure from China Customs to restrict the use of spare parts more than two years old. The group will also be invited to discuss the rules and regulations influencing 1) the after market supply chain, 2) work visas for expatriates beyond 60 years of age, 3) possible creation of industry lobby in view of these limitations, 4) definition of actions.
During the meeting we will also have the pleasure to welcome Mr. Frederic Campagnac, Technical Assistance Team Leader, to brief the Working Group on the EU-China Civil Aviation Project.
As you may know, the Aerospace Working Group Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group which includes a leadership role in communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Working Group is also highly valued (a general job description is attached).
Currently, Mr. Raymond LIM (Airbus) is a candidate for the Chair of the Working Group.
Anyone else who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair is also welcome and kindly requested to inform Ms. Yi Liu, yliu@europeanchamber.com.cn, by COB March 25th.
