Dear IPR Working Group Member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next
IPR Working Group (WG) Meeting which will be held on
November 17, 2011 from 10am- 12:00pm in the European Chamber's Shanghai and Beijing offices – please note the meeting will start at 10am, so it is kindly advised to arrive before then. Video conference will be set-up between the two offices.
We are excited to host two European Commission (from the Directorate General for Trade [DG Trade]) representatives at the meeting – Mr. Anders Jessen, Head of Unit, Public Procurement and IP; and Mr. Benoit Lory, Policy Officer, Enforcement of IPR – who will discuss IPR concerns of our members. The agenda is as follows: 1. Introduction from Paul Ranjard, Chair of the IPR WG (from Beijing office) and DG Trade representatives Mr. Anders Jessen and Mr. Benoit Lory (from Shanghai office) (10:00am)
2. Brief update from Paul Ranjard on the Chamber's response to Call for Comments (CfC) on China's revised Trademark Law 3. Brief update from Paul Ranjard on the Chamber’s meeting with SIPO on October 28th 4. Update from Paul Ranjard on the Chamber's Brussels circuit lobby efforts in September 5. Brief discussion on recent CfC on Measures for Compulsory Patent Licensing, and other relevant CfCs 6. Short break (11:00-11:10am) 7. Update from Mr. Anders Jessen and Mr. Benoit Lory on the 7th IP Dialogue and 9th EU-China IP Working Group meeting 8. Open discussion with Mr. Anders Jessen and Mr. Benoit Lory on IP enforcement issues in China (including examples of weak administration), and possible solutions the EU can encourage

10. AOB and dates for next meetings/activities (12:30pm)
