With the focus of branding and communications increasingly shifting to online media, the European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Marketing & Communications Forum event on Friday 30th March, starting from 1200 at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Centre, where we will examine digital marketing in China.
At this event, we will have two highly-qualified speakers:
Our first speaker, Mr. Sam Flemming, Founder and Chairman, CIC will present on “How Chinese companies leverages social media intelligence for smarter communications and smarter business”. He will provide an introduction to the fragmented and dynamic social media landscape and case studies of how companies turn the “chatter” into business intelligence for smarter communications and smarter business.
Our second speaker, Mr. Jeff Kwek, Head of Branding, Tencent will present “Digital China”. He will share his own perceptions on the great potential of China’s Internet market, including E-commerce, SNS and mobile communications.
About the speakers
Mr. Sam Flemming, founder and Chairman, CIC, has been an important figure in China's digital (r)evolution for over 15 years, starting with Chinapay.com, the first online payment platform in China. Sam has been interviewed and quoted extensively on topics related to Chinese digital culture, social media and the Internet by a host of worldwide media sources and is also a frequent speaker at renowned branding and marketing events throughout the world. Sam is highly respected by China's Internet industry experts and is considered the leading pioneer of social media in China.
Mr. Jeff Kwek, joined Tencent in 2007 as head of branding and was tasked with developing and implementing a corporate branding strategy for Tencent media properties. Prior to joining Tencent, Jeff held senior management positions at BBDO, Ogilvy and McCann-Erickson. In mid-2007, Jeff Kwek developed Tencent MIND, an online branding methodology that is widely accepted by the trade and subsequently named “Best Online Marketing Practices” by the China Advertising Association. Under his leadership, Tencent is now ranked the 7th most valuable brand in the Top 50 Brand China Award conducted by Forbes and Interbrand. Jeff is responsible for the publishing of a book entitled: Virtual World, Real Trust: Understanding digital behaviors and attitudes from 1-4 cities.
