About the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City
The Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (SSGKC) is a 50/50 joint venture between the Guangzhou Development District, one of the China’s best state level development zones, and Singbridge International Singapore Pte.Ltd, a wholly owned company of Temasek Holdings (Singapore Government 100% Own Investment Arm)
The Guangzhou Knowledge City is a landmark bilateral project between China and Singapore, located 35 km from the Guangzhou city centre and 25 km from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on a 123-square kilometers greenfield site where about half of the area is developable while the other half is green spaces which will be preserved. The project is expected to be developed in phases over 15-20 years, with an initial 6 square kilometers start-up area (SUA) to be developed over the next five years.
The vision of the Guangzhou Knowledge City is to develop a unique, vibrant and sustainable city that is highly attractive to talent and skilled manpower and knowledge-based industries. Its development is guided by the three main themes of “Smart City”, “Eco City” and “Learning City”. It is positioned as a model and catalyst for the economic upgrading and environmental enhancement of Guangdong.
