On 29 June 2012, the SAT released the long-awaited supplementary notice to Circular 601, i.e., SAT Public Notice [2012] No.30 (Public Notice 30) which took effect from the issuance date, to provide further clarification on how to assess the BO status. Our invited speakers will highlight the crucial points of the Public Notice 30, and provide other updates on two existing circulars, Guoshuihan [2009] No.601 (Circular 601) and Guoshuihan [2009] No.698 (Circular 698) as well.

Hong has over 15 years of experience in tax and legal practice in China, Singapore and the U.S. She specializes in cross-border tax planning, business model optimization planning, private equity fund formation (including RMB fund formation) and investment, and M&A. Hong's private equity clients include one of the top U.S. based PE funds.

Hong represented some of the largest companies in various industries in M&A transactions. These industries include auto, manufacturing, consumer business, healthcare, and telecommunication and media and real estate.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Hong worked as an in-house counsel for a Fortune 100 U.S. company in Singapore and the U.S. and practiced law in China, advising on international transactions as well as general corporate and commercial legal matters.
