The European Chamber is delighted to announce the third edition of its flagship macroeconomic seminar Insight China with the topic "Is China’s Investment model coming to an end?", with the renowned speakers ZHU Tian (CEIBS), Alberto Forchielli, (Mandarin Capital Partners), and Mary Boyd, (Shanghai Economist Intelligence Unit) on February 26th, 4 pm.
China’s fast growth in the past decade has found its basis on unsustainable levels of investment that have built significant structural distortions in the economy. The transfer of wealth from households and SMEs has been too great with clear economic and social costs. Now the current leadership has clearly and publicly recognized the imperative need of ending this investment model in order to rebalance its economy.
However in order to tackle this challenge will require from the incoming administration much energy and shifting to a new model of policy making in which market forces play a bigger role.
Join Zhu Tian, Alberto Forchielli, and Mary Boyd to analyze and discuss this crucial moment in Chinese economy.
