This Seminar has been put together to highlight two aspects of costs reduce in China
· From the view of the operation of a company, the first and most important is the changes implemented by the government to resolve the issue of duplication of TAX on goods and services, and to further support the development of the service industry. Also as important is the approval by the government to allow freight forwarding companies to consolidate goods from different suppliers in China and do a single export declaration for all goods in a given shipment.
· From the role of the port when reducing costs in China, the presentation will cover how the role of the Port Authority is played when reducing logistic costs. Also, how the extending the operational frontiers of the Port is being conducted. The presentation will also talk about how to create better shortsea connections to serve the whole European Market.

VP for Business Development at Hercules –Logistics. Shenzhen
John is an Australian citizen who has been living and working in China for the last 16 years, He has been involved in Supply Chain and Logistics areas of business from 1976, with large Multinational companies such as 3M , Parker and Siemens. He has an MBA in Production Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Operations
Management as well as been a CPIM with APICS.
Previous training experience:
John has been involved with training and mentoring in the Supply Chain and Operations management with UTS University at their Sydney Campus, The Southern Cross University of Australia as well as the Siemens Management Institute in Australia and China.

National Operations Manager with Parker Hannifin Pty. Ltd. Australia.
National Logistics & Operations Manager with Siemens in Australia.
Vice President of Logistics for Siemens in China.
Currently is VP for Business Development at Hercules –Logistics. Shenzhen.
Mr. Jan Vannieuwenburg 杨帆
General Manager China/Asia
Port Authority Bruges-Zeebrugge, Belgium (MBZ)
Mr Jan Vannieuwenburg was born in Bruges, Belgium, on 16 January 1951. After his secondary studies he graduated in communication sciences with an MBA in Marketing and PR.
He started his professional career at mc.cann Erickson in Brussels as account executive and account director two years later from there he joined Olivetti group as director communications and was appointed spokesman of Mr Carlo de Benedetti during the takeover bid on Belgium’s Societe Generale. He then joined Alcatel group in Belgium as worldwide director marketing communications later he was general manager of France’s dauphin group in Brussels
And 14 years ago he joined Zeebrugge port authority as director international development during this period he was in charge of the cruise industry and food sector for the port and worked specifically on South America, South Africa and Oceania regions. In 2009 he was appointed General Manager China/Asia for Zeebrugge port with offices in Shanghai and Bangkok.
