Ms. Adelene Wee
Ms. Adelene Wee
Adelene Wee leads the China team for Fraud Prevention and Integrity Risk Services at Hill & Associates. She is responsible for managing and conducting client engagements in China, Hong Kong and in support of other country offices, focused on the areas of fraud, bribery and corruption, ethics, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and integrity and compliance matters. Adelene has worked in Singapore, Hong Kong and China and brings with her extensive experience in the practicalities of doing business, local and cross-border. In the last eight years she has particularly focused on assisting clients in: investigating and assessing risks and compliance violations; and advising on, formulating strategies and achieving satisfactory commercial solutions in relation to issues arising with regards to client investments and operations. Prior to joining Hill & Associates, Adelene worked in Tax & Legal Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers and in Corporate & Commercial Law at international law firms. Adelene holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, and is an experienced speaker on a range of topics related to doing business and ethics. She has also been published on subjects such as conducting business in China and taxation. Adelene is effectively trilingual in English, Mandarin and Cantonese and writes in both the English and Chinese languages at a first language level.

Mr. Thorsten Zwiener
Thorsten commenced his career with KPMG in Germany in 1999 where he specialised in transaction work and gained a variety of experiences in core transaction services, reorganisations, and valuation services. Thorsten joined KPMG in China in November 2007. Since then he advises MNCs (in particular in the diversified industrial and consumer markets) as well as Chinese clients investing abroad on M&A related matters throughout the acquisition process, with particular focus on providing assistance in the fields of financial and tax due diligence, closing assistance, corporate reorganisation and integrated cross-functional solutions combining audit, tax and advisory expertise. Key clients in the automotive, manufacturing, chemical, and energy and health care sectors include Allianz, Bayer, BMW, CIC, China Grid, Daimler, Fresenius, Lufthansa, MAN, Merck, Sandvik, Shell, Siemens, and VW. Thorsten is a frequent speaker at conferences and roundtable events in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. He was co-author of the KPMG M&A handbook “Transaktionen erfolgreich managen – Ein M&A-Handbuch für die Praxis”, focusing on transactions in Russia and China.
Mr. Antoine de La Gatinais
Mr. Antoine de La Gatinais
Antoine de la Gatinais, partner, is head of the Shanghai office and a member of the Paris Bar. With over a decade of legal experience in cross-border M&A, private equity, investment funds and real estate, Antoine has significant expertise advising on foreign direct investment in China, including the acquisition of stakes in private and public entities and joint venture arrangements. His practice also covers advising on real estate projects, including commercial / retail and office developments and the acquisition of real estate assets. His recent work includes advising Air Liquide on the establishment of a joint venture in China with Sinopec, advising one of the world's largest manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses on the acquisition of several manufacturing units in China, and assisting a leading French luxury goods and fashion house on the opening of their flagship stores in Shanghai. Antoine is also active in advising Chinese companies on outbound investment projects and otherwise establishing their presence in Europe.
Antoine is currently listed as one of the leading lawyers in real estate in China by Chambers Asia-Pacific 2012, and is recommended in real estate and banking & finance in China in the latest Asia Pacific Legal 500.
Ms. Miao Huang
Ms. Miao Huang
Miao having the focus and wide knowledge on Chinese legislation within environment, health & safety and Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) has under many years worked with environmental consultancy, climate and energy policies, and also international business contacts. She is now leading the Swedish company Envitool in China which is a provider of online updating and monitoring system for EHS and CSR legal compliance. Prio joining Envitool in 2010, she worked at CCPIT Beijing in China with a high-level business advisory committee for the Mayor, and as environmental consultant on legislation in Sweden and as China-coordinator of Climate Change and Energy Program at World Wildlife Fund WWF-Sweden. Miao holds a Bachelor of Arts from China and a Master of Sciences on Environmental Strategy from Lund University, Sweden. Miao is fluent in both Swedish and English, besides Mandarin.

From over 2 decades as a leader in Toastmasters International clubs including being an Area Governor and former club president of several Toastmasters International clubs, Jerel has honed his presentation abilities. He delivers training that is practicable and actionable. He shares his past work and learning experiences with his trainees so that they are motivated to succeed. He helps them connect the dots of the training concepts to their managers and organizations’ goals, which leads them to create more value back in the office.
