We are pleased to invite you to the next Construction Working Group meeting that will be held at the European Chamber in Shanghai on Tuesday, 20th May 2006 from 6.00-7.15pm.
The Chamber welcomes candidatures for the position of Vice Chairperson and encourages all members to actively support the Working Group. Please contact Maurizio Andreano for details. During this meeting we will discuss and distribute the responsibilities for drafting the 2006 Position Paper. Please be reminded that the deadline for the English version of the Position Papers is Friday 30th June 2006. The Position Paper is the key tool of the Working Group, developing dialogue with authorities in Europe and in China. Our meeting will be more productive if you are able to give some consideration to these and additional issues that affect your business operations in China. Please provide any input or feedback ahead of the meeting to Maurizio Andreano at mandreano@euccc.com.cn.

2.) Flexibility in the application of the capital and assets requirement – Terence Wong (Lovells)
3.) Circular 159 concessions for the design regime - Chris Shi (DHV Engineering Consultancy)
4.) Allow cross-border provision of project management services - Stephen McCartney (SIP Group)
5.) Issue drafts of pending regulations for consultation on an expedite basis – Jean Kowalski, Maurizio Andreano It should be emphasized that all members of the WG are encouraged to contribute to the Position Paper and to provide their comments and suggestions to the Chamber. The draft key recommendations should be submitted to the Chamber not later than Monday, 12th June.
The Chamber will merge all recommendations and circulate among the Working Group members ahead of this meeting.
