The European Union Chamber of Commerce, the German Chamber of Commerce, the Hamburg Liaison Office Shanghai and the Swedish Chamber jointly invite you to a half-day seminar on The Future of Health Care in China.
Despite a healthy 7.5% economic growth in Q2 2013, China still faces a mammoth task in trying to provide medical and welfare services adequate to meet the basic needs of the immense number of citizens spread over a vast area. The Chinese government has to alter its budgetary policy and reform the fundamental healthcare structure to accommodate heightened health care expenses. The demographic shift to an older society will have a profound impact on the Chinese economy and investment opportunities in China. Western pharma and healthcare manufacturers are in a position to sell more products in China, but only a few have been widely successful in capturing the market.
European expertise in health care can match the Chinese demands in the sector. The high expertise of life science, clustered in know how centers like Hamburg as well as the high-concentration of healthcare and pharma companies in the German and European Chamber in China, can help meeting the growing challenges in China’s fast developing but also aging society.
With the higher standard of living, it is expected that there will be significant demand for goods and services such as eye clinics, wheelchairs, advanced hospital management, e-mobile healthcare, secure insurance systems as well as a supportive policy and regulatory environment.
Therefore, the European Chamber of Commerce in China, the German Chamber of Commerce, the Hamburg Liaison Office and the Swedish Chamber proudly present this seminar of The Future of Health Care in China, and to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and discussions with government official, industry experts, knowledge bodies such as consultancies in the health care sector.
