Tel: (21) 6385 2023
We are pleased to invite you to the next Auto Components Working Group meeting on Tuesday, 29th August at the EU Chamber, Shanghai at 9am.
Intellectual Property Right infringement is an ongoing issue in China and particularly the Auto Components industry. The meeting will approach this topic from a legal but also preventive perspective. How can you protect your companies IP, do you have an IP strategy developed, what legal steps are necessary, what legal means do you have in case of an infringement? On the other side we will also hear about principles of counterfeiting and preventive measures being available helping you to be a step ahead of the counterfeiters.
We are delighted to welcome Chris Bailey, partner with international law firm Rouse & Co. Chris began in Rouse’s UK offices, and rotated through HK, Beijing, Bangkok and finally its Shanghai offices before becoming manager of the Guangzhou office. He covered IPR and anti-counterfeiting cases for more than 10 years and manages a China-wide IPR protection and enforcement programme including auto parts manufacturers. Chris will tell us about internal and external threats for your companies and guide us through the legal steps necessary to protect your IP and react to infringements.
The Chamber welcomes as second distinguished guest Ooi Hoay Beng, advisor with Woelco AG. Ooi specialises in label solutions for the auto industry and advises on non legal means of reducing and preventing counterfeiting, product tampering and warranty issues. He worked for various multinationals as GM in the past 10 years both in China and overseas. Ooi will explain the practical aspects of IPR protection and how you can effectively protect your products.
