The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to a members-only seminar with Shanghai Customs. It will take place at the European Chamber on Friday, 15th November, 2pm-4pm, with registrations beginning at 1:30pm.
Following the launch of the 2013-2014 Position Paper on 5th September, the European Chamber has had a meeting with Shanghai Customs’ newly appointed Director-General Li Shuyu on 25th September. At this meeting, it has been agreed to arrange a working-level meeting with Chamber members to discuss in more detail the Position Paper, in particular the Logistics chapter.
At this seminar, Shanghai Customs representatives will address the following 2013-2014 Position Paper Key Recommendations in 5-10 presentations:
a. Logistics Position Paper
1. Increase Communication between China Customs and China Inspection and Quarantine Services
2. Do Not Apply Penalty for Supplementary Declaration
3. Permit Importation of Refurbished Parts
4. Accelerate Processing Trade Reform
5. Simplify Zone-to-Zone Movement
6. Solve Warehousing Issues
7. Improve Enterprise Grading Standards
b. Aerospace Position Paper
1. Improve Operational Environment for the Aviation Industry
Shanghai Customs representatives are from the following departments:

- Customs Control and Inspection Division
- Declaration Verification Division
- Enterprise Administration Division
- Processing Trade Division
There will be time for a Q&A session, following the presentations. Should you have questions that are not related to the above Key Recommendations, these must be submitted to Ms. Bettina Buck at bbuck@europeanchamber.com.cn by Monday, 11th November COB, to be forwarded to Shanghai Customs in advance of the seminar. Any questions submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
