Presentation: KPMG Global Automotive Survey 2013
Bio of speaker:
Andrew Thomson is a Partner with KPMG China and Head of the Firm’s Automotive practice in both China and across the Asia Pacific region. He also has additional responsibilities as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer for KPMG in Asia Pacific.
Andrew’s first experience of doing business with automotive companies came when he moved to Russia from the UK in 1995 – firstly with another Big 4 consulting organization and then joining KPMG Russia/CIS in April 1996. He spent nearly five years based in Moscow working with a range of auto/industrial suppliers and manufacturers across the country, including an extended period as part of a combined audit and consulting team helping to restructure a major truck manufacturer. He moved to Asia late in 1999, and then spent time developing major Regional client accounts (from Singapore) and leading KPMG’s consulting business in Thailand, before moving to Shanghai early in 2005.
Andrew’s current role includes representing China and Asia Pacific on KPMG’s Global Automotive Steering Group, which leads the Firm’s product, service and thought leadership development initiatives worldwide. He has also produced a number of China-specific thought leadership papers, covering issues across the automotive value chain. Andrew personally leads a number of KPMG’s major automotive client relationships for China and the Asia Pacific Region, including for US and European suppliers and OEMs.
