Presentation Background:
In today's environment - with China as an increasing consumer market - many international companies earn a respectable part of the total value chain in China. Due to restrictions for the repatriation of profits this quite often results in having money 'trapped' in China. Through the appropriate enterprise model, companies can create solutions and structures to remit cash back to an overseas parent or related company. Implementing such models often facilitate growth in the Asia Pacific region and contributes to increased management control, supply chain optimization and effective tax and legal structures. During this workshop the most recent trends and models of remittance to parent companies will be presented and discussed.
Mr. Cyril Lau (Manager, International Tax Services, EY Beijing) began his professional career in Hong Kong back in 2006, and moved to Beijing office in May 2010. Prior to joining the ITS practice, Cyril had 4 years experience in providing PRC tax advisory and tax due diligence services. Cyril has been involved in various cross-border engagements in the areas of international tax structuring and tax due diligence projects, including international merger & acquisition, private equity structuring, supply chain management, inbound and outbound investments. Cyril was educated in the United Kingdom from a young age and received his Bachelor of Marketing and Management from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK in 2005.
