The amended PRC Company Law was issued on December 28, 2013 and will come into effect on March 1, 2014. The amendments focus on registered capital and capital contribution of a company. What was behind such amendments and what will be the impact on your China business? Mr. Cody Chen
Cody Chen is a partner at the European law firm Taylor Wessing Shanghai Office. He advises European and international clients on various legal matters and business transactions in China and cross-border. His special focus areas are foreign direct investment, mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring, commercial, real estate, construction as well as dispute resolution. Cody advises clients from various industries with an emphasis on real estate, construction, chemical and logistics.
Cody studied law at Southwest University of Political Science & Law and was admitted to the Chinese bar in 1999. Before joining Taylor Wessing’s Shanghai Office, Cody worked in a major Chinese firm in west China.
Cody is a frequent commentator of Chinese law. He has published articles and spoken at various events regarding Chinese legal environment and development.
