About the speakers
Patrick Hu, Partner, Jones Day Shanghai
Patrick Hu has nearly 20 years of experience in the areas of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions and foreign direct investment. He advises multinational corporations in their international M&A, finance, and commercial transactions involving the United States and Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Greater China region. He focuses on international mergers and acquisitions, private equity, foreign direct investment, and other cross-border business transactions and represents clients in various industries including energy, automotive, telecommunications, consumer products, real estate, construction, and media and entertainment.
Ian Liao, Partner, Jones Day Shanghai
Ian Liao's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and cross-border technology transactions. He has represented public and private companies in mergers, asset acquisitions and divestitures, and equity purchase transactions. He also has substantial experience advising venture capital funds in fund investment activities and advising high-tech companies, including start-up and pre-IPO stage companies, in fund-raising activities.
Liming Yuan, Partner, Jones Day Shanghai
Liming Yuan's practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment, and commercial transactions in China. Recent representative matters include assisting foreign investors in acquisition of equity and assets of PRC companies, assisting multinationals in setting up joint ventures in China, and advising several multinationals on optimal restructuring plans in China.
Julian Lin, Partner, Jones Day Hong Kong
Julian's practice encompasses a broad range of capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and technology licensing matters. He has assisted clients in their private placements in and outside of the Silicon Valley and has substantial experience advising venture capital funds, both in the establishment of the funds and in their investment activities.
