Dear Working Group Member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the Logistics Working Group Meeting on Friday, March 14, 13:30-16:00 at the European Chamber Shenzhen. Members in Beijing and Shanghai will join the meeting via conference call.
The main purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Logistics Working Group Position Paper 2014-2015. Working Group members are requested to come to the meeting with concerns and recommendations. Working Group members are encouraged to review last year’s Logistics Position Paper and identify internally the key issues to be included in the upcoming 2014-2015 edition. Please find attached last year’s Logistics Position Paper.
The Position Paper is the European Chamber’s key lobbying document and is widely recognized by the Chinese and European governments, EU institutions, business associations and the media as the authoritative voice of EU business in China. It is used extensively for policy considerations, bilateral discussions, cooperation projects and background information. The value and importance of a well-written and well-represented Logistics Position Paper cannot be overstated.
At this meeting, we welcome our guest speaker (via conference call) Ms. Shirley Shen, Senior Tax Manager at KPMG. Her presentation will outline and review the latest developments on value-added tax reform in China, with emphasis on Circular 106, which came into effect on 1 January 2014. Shirley has been involved with the European Chamber’s lobbying efforts in respect to value-added tax reform in 2013.
We welcome Working Group members’ suggestions for possible agenda topics and speakers for this and future Working Group Meetings. Please find the agenda below.
