The PRD Board Election where PRD Representative/Vice President-designate, PRD Chairman of the Board (1) and PRD Board positions (6) are elected, will take place on Thursday, April 17th at the Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Science City.
Who can vote and run for elections?
If you meet all the following 4 criteria, you can vote and run for election. You are:
1) Designated Representative (the main contact between the European Chamber and your company);
2) A European member company with operations in China;
3) A Member of one of our working groups or forums;
4) With paid dues for the year 2014 (please make sure that the Chamber has received and confirmed your membership payment by Thursday, 10 April).
Who can attend the Board Election Meeting?
All members (including those who do not meet the requirements for voting and standing for election), with paid dues, have the right to participate and be heard. However only members who meet the above mentioned 4 criteria can vote or run for election.
Please register your attendance with Ms. Jun Zhang, gz_events@europeanchamber.com.cn before April 15th. You will receive official confirmation after verifying your membership status.
How can I vote?
There are two ways of voting:
1) In person by secret ballot at the elections venue. Please register your attendance by Tuesday, April 15th, 6pm.
2) Assign a proxy to vote on your behalf by Tuesday, April 15th, 6pm. Please fill in the Proxy Form (click here) and send a scanned copy to Ms. Jun Zhang, gz_events@europeanchamber.com.cn or in person at the Chamber office in Guangzhou (Unit 2817, 28/F, Tower A, China Shine Plaza, No.9 Linhe Xi Road, Tianhe District).
The proxy must be a colleague from your own company.
Proxies received after the deadline and in a format different from those listed above won’t be accepted.
How can I run for elections?
The nomination period is now open until 4pm on Thursday, April 10th.
If you would like to run for Chairman or Member of the Board, you need to:
1) Be nominated by two designated representative of other member companies eligible to vote (please refer to the above section “who can vote and run for elections?”)
2) Fill in and sign the Nomination Form (click here). The nomination form must also be signed by both the nominator and the seconder with both signatures on the same document. Both the nominator and the seconder must be members of the Sectoral Working Groups in good standing (with paid dues for 2014). In the case of candidates to the Chairman, either the nominator’s company or the seconder’s company or both must be from a Member State of the European Union different from that of the candidate.
3) Send the nomination form scanned by e-mail to Ms. Francine Hadjisotiriou: hadjisotiriou @europeanchamber.com.cn or in person at the Chamber office in Guangzhou by 4pm on April 10th, 2014.
4) Provide a short bio and motivation letter (click here to for template) scanned by e-mail to Ms. Francine Hadjisotiriou: hadjisotiriou @europeanchamber.com.cn or in person at the Chamber office in Guangzhou by 4pm on April 10th, 2014.
