Dear Working Group member,

The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next PCR Working Group meeting. It will be held on Thursday 29^th May, 10-12h, at the European Chamber Beijing and Shanghai offices via videoconference facility.

At this meeting, we will have an invited speaker Mr. Linus Hildebrandt from A.T. Kearney to present ‘Chemicals Executive M&A report’. The deal pipeline for 2014 is in excellent shape fueled by large scale portfolio restructurings, which are often triggered by activist investors as in the case of Dow, Dupont and Ashland. Panelist of leading chemical companies and investors have provided valuable insights on their expectations of the deal activity in 2014. Survey results are captured in the Chemicals Executive M&A report together with a comprehensive review of deal activity in 2013 with a specific focus on Asia.

Then we will have a discussion on Position Paper issues and progress, as well as lobby priorities for 2014. Should you have any input about your company’s specific lobby issues, please send your feedback to Dr. Xin-Ying Ren (xyren@europeanchamber.com.cn) by COB 21^st May.

Linus Hildebrandt has 14 years of consulting experience in Europa and Asia. He is an expert in developing strategies, organizational concepts and marketing/sales programs for chemical, oil and energy companies. During his career he has worked with some of the world's largest enterprises as well as dynamic start-up companies. His project experience covers all parts of the oil, petrochemical and chemical value chains from crude oil production to specialty chemicals marketing. Linus graduated from Berlin Institute of Technology and Dublin City University with a degree in engineering management.
