China’s 2nd and 3rd tier cities offer many benefits when compared to Shanghai and Beijing. The most obvious is monetary, as labour, rent and essential service costs are generally cheaper in regional cities. However, there are also significant challenges faced by European small and medium-sized companies wishing to establish themselves in China’s regional cities. These include infrastructure issues and finding qualified and experienced staff; reasons that make these cities less attractive to relocate or expand to from first tier cities.
It is in this context that the China IPR SME Helpdesk and the EU SME Centre invite you to an afternoon seminar during which the pros and cons of setting up a business in China’s regional cities will be discussed. The seminar will address:
-China’s regional cities that offer the most promising opportunities for European companies
-Challenges for setting up business in China’s regional cities
-Negotiation strategies with China’s regional governments
-How to protect your IP and valuable assets when setting up a company in a 2nd or 3rd tier city
