The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the first urbanisation series event of 2014 with World Bank Lead Urban Specialists Mr. Paul Procee and Mr. Gailius Draugelis on 10th June at Fairmont Hotel.
The World Bank and the State Council’s Development Research Centre have published an urbanisation report on 25th March 2014, which lays out a comprehensive reform agenda to make China’s urbanisation more efficient, inclusive and sustainable. The report recommends that China tackle environmental degradation and other strains of rapid urbanisation by systematically changing how it allocates land, people and capital across the country.
At the event, Mr. Paul Procee and Mr. Gailius Draugelis will present the key findings, recommendations and statistics of the urbanisation report. This joint publication was prepared over a period of 14 months, with interim reports continually shared with China’s top policymakers as input to government discussions on urbanisation, providing a critical foundation for the formulation of policies on China’s new model of urbanisation.
