The European Chamber would like to invite you to the inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility Working Group meeting which will take place at our office on Wednesday, 14th February at 9:00am.
Following on from the success of the CSR Working Group in Beijing, it has been decided to set up a CSR Working Group in Shanghai in order to inform European companies operating in China of the benefits of sustainable development in business and to discuss best practice in CSR operations. The goal would be to find a balance between social, economic and environmental matters operating outside of a home country and to ensure that companies are aware of their social footprint.
Four aspects of CSR have been identified for the purpose of this Working Group; the list is limitless but focus will initially be on the following areas:
- Corporate Governance and Accountability
- Labour Management throughout the Supply Chain
- Environmental Engagement
- Local Community Work and Broader Society
This Corporate Social Responsibility Working Group meeting is open to all European Chamber members who have an active interest in pursuing CSR activities or brainstorming with peers on CSR operations for their own companies. This is a new Working Group and we encourage all members to register their attendance at this Working Group meeting by sending an email to Mr. Ian Wallis at: iwallis@euccc.com.cn
