The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, South China Chapter invites members to participate in the working level government meeting with the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province (DOFCOM).
Following the public call for comment issued by MOFCOM on the Foreign Investment Law, which consolidates previous revisions made to the Three Laws on Foreign Investment and marks the government’s latest effort towards further opening up and standardizing foreign investment administration, this meeting expects to bring together officials from DOFCOM, who will engage with member companies in Q&A session and explain over recent developments on foreign investment law.

The Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province is the official department of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, whose responsibilities cover:
- to implement and to carry out the national guidelines, policies, laws and regulations related to the commercial administration and port affairs;
- to draft and implement the relevant laws and regulations of the province;
- to research and study the mode and development trend of domestic and foreign trade, and modern circulation, and propose the suggestions and the policies in these aspects;
- to draft and implement the strategies, projects and planning of the development of the commerce and port affairs;
- to draft and implement the policies and measures of the construction of the market system, the development of the domestic and foreign trade and investment, and speed up to carry forward the construction of the modern market system, push forward the construction of the platforms of commerce and trade services;
- to promote the integration development of domestic and foreign trade;
- to optimize the layout and structure of the commerce and trade circulation.
