2. Presentation from Irene Rodgers from Inter Cultural Management Associates about Developing and Keeping Talent
Ms. Irene Rodgers from Inter Cultural Management Associates gave a presentation about how to develop and keep talent in a company. She was also talking about what she and her colleagues experienced when they helped companies to reduce their turnover on employees.
3. Round Table Discussion
In the beginning of the roundtable discussion all participants introduced themselves and said what they have implemented in their company to keep talented staff and where they think problems come up.
To summarize the group came to the following conclusions:
- It is important to understand the reasons why people leave the company. These reasons are mostly related to three factors: the cross cultural issue, the management or leadership, or to the fact that employees cannot see a clear career path for themselves.
- It was also said that it is important to analyze the capabilities of the employees and follow up with the result.
Furthermore it is important to focus on the leadership. The leaders have to be aware of the Human Resources policies of the company.
- Compensation and Benefits can also make employees stay in the company as well as trainings.
The participants of the working group stressed out that salary should not be the only method to make people stay but can also help.
