The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to attend the next Human Resources Working Group meeting that will take place on Thursday, 5th April 2007, in the European Chamber offices.
During the first part of the meeting members of the Working Group will discuss the 2007 HR WG Position Paper, and the issues that it will address. The Position Paper is published on an annual basis and represent the overall view of EU companies conducting business in China. Complied by the working groups, the position paper details the key concerns and recommendations of each Working group with regard to WTO implementation issues, trade issues beyond China's WTO commitments, regulatory issues and broader policy-related issues.
The second part of the meeting will be dedicated to further our understanding of the EU Commission's managers project (METP) , and possible HR WG involvement. Mr. Jo FLEISCHLE will present an overview of the project. The EU-China Managers Exchange and Training programme, METP, launched in July 2006, is a non-profit four-year intergovernmental co-operation project between the European Commission and the Government of China with the aim to enhance business expertise among Chinese and European managers. The METP is managed by a Chinese Project Director and an international team co-coordinating training's and seminars with other stakeholders including a prestigious Chinese University, a consortium of leading European business schools and other Chinese and European learning institutions. Some 400 Chinese and European managers from SMEs and NGOs and from the media and public sector, will be trained at different locations in China and Europe in modern management techniques, in language and intercultural skills. The METP still invites interested EU nationals to apply for the first intake before 6 April 2007. For further information and application documents please visit the website www.metp.net.cn or contact METP directly www.info@metp.net.cn.
We will conclude the meeting with a brainstorming session on topics and speakers for the HR WG's upcoming Human Resources Forum. Your contribution is highly encouraged.
