Co-organized with The National Center for International Cooperation in Work Safety (NCICS, cooperation center of the State Administration of Work Safety), the Chemical Risks Exchange Group (CREG) conferences have been successfully held twice in 2012 and 2014. Attended by experts and scholars specialized in chemical risks management from China and abroad, our previous seminars were respectively dedicated to Identifying Chemical Risks on a Workplace and the Best Practices and their Communication.
Aiming at further promoting chemical safety, the NCICS and CREG committee are now jointly organizing the third Chemical Safety Conference (Suzhou, June 25-27 2015). This year’s conference theme is Choosing PPE against Chemical Risks – Principles and Methodology.
From existing regulations and standards to the reality on the ground, permanent risks to accidental risks, collective protection to individual protection, EHS professionals need to take a multitude of factors into consideration when choosing PPE to protect their workers against chemical danger. The multitude of PPE producers, the differences in PPE quality and functions, new technologies, make decision-making all the more complicated. The conference will aim at giving EHS specialists reflection keys on how to choose their PPE: starting from the principles, we will then build a methodology on PPE choice. The congress will also tackle issues related to the implementation of PPE on working sites, such as workers' training.
By choosing to have an approach from different angles (firefighters, emergency workers, doctors, EHS professionals), our conference will allow attendants to have a global understanding of PPE’s importance, and give them a chance to better grasp what is at stake when implementing PPE at their workplace.
Agenda:
The first day, lectures, given by both national and international experts will set the knowledge basis and methodology.
On the second day, workshops will give participants the opportunity to use the methodology acquired, by setting up PPE solutions for realistic work conditions scenarios in small groups, with the guidance of our experts.
Our congress will be simultaneously translated into French, English and Chinese.
