European Union Chamber of Commerce in China
Joint SH & BJ Compliance and Business Ethics Working Group Meeting
Time: Friday, 12th June 2015, 15:00-16:30
Venue: European Chamber Shanghai & Beijing
Dear Working Group Member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Joint Compliance and Business Ethics working group meeting. It will be held on Friday, 12th June, 15:00-16:30, at both, the European Chamber Shanghai and the European Chamber Beijing.
The lack of clarity of the Anti-Bribery legislation is affecting the operations of a number of European companies in China. As such, this issue has been included in the new paper on Compliance this group is preparing for the European Chamber’s Position Paper to be published in September. One example of this lack of clarity is the notion of commercial bribery, which is covered under the Anti-Unfair Competition Law.
Our speaker, Ms. Ninette Dodoo, current Vice-Chair of the Legal and Competition working group in Beijing and co-head of Freshfields’ antitrust, competition and trade practice in China, will discuss some of the differences between the Anti-Unfair Competition Law and the Anti-Monopoly Law.
Please find Ms. Dodoo’s bio attached.
