The European Chamber Nanjing Chapter is pleased to invite you to an exclusive dialogue with Mr. Joerg Wuttke, President of European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, to discuss the European Chamber’s recently published Business Confidence Survey 2015 with a specific focus on Nanjing, as well as the forthcoming Nanjing Position Paper 2015/2016.
The 11th edition of the Business Confidence Survey 2015 brings together the input of over 540 senior representatives from the European Chamber’s member companies to provide an annual overview of their performance in the Chinese market and their outlook for the future, broken down by industry, company size and time in China.
This year’s survey insights include:
l How are European companies adjusting to China’s economic slowdown?
l Is China still attracting enough foreign direct investment into research and development(R&D)?
l How does European business ‘rate’ China’s reforms?
l A detailed breakdown of the financial performance, outlook for future growth, profitabilityand investment of European business, sector-by-sector.
Nanjing focused Business Confidence Survey 2015:
l More Nanjing-based European companies are optimistic than the overall average in terms of ranking China as the best investment destination.
l However, compared with 2014, the percentage of NJ-based European companies that put a hold on their investments and stalled their expansion plans has significantly increased, surpassing the overall level.
l Nanjing-based companies are sensitive to the Chinese economic slowdown and rank it as their priority, similar to the overall ranking. Yet, the second biggest business challenge for them is considered to be competition from the Chinese privately-owned enterprises, as opposed to rising labour costs.
