In April 2015, the Chinese National People’s Congress passed the draft amendments to the Advertising Law. The new Law will come into effect on 1 September 2015. The amended Law represents the first major revision of the law since the Advertising Law was first introduced in 1995 and will bring about significant changes to the regulatory regime for advertising activities in China. The Law also sends out a signal that the Chinese authorities are keen to strengthen consumer protection by clamping down on inappropriate advertising activities.
In order to develop a better and deeper understanding of the new Law and how the it will affect your business, the European Chamber of Commerce will host an exclusive dialogue with Mr. Ying Jun, Chief of the Department of Advertising Supervision and Administration of Shanghai Administration of Industry and Commerce. In this event, Mr. Ying will explain the background of the amendment, major changes in the new law and the important implications it has to your business. Mr. Ying will also share case studies and respond to enquiries from the participants.
To ensure the best feedback, you are strongly encouraged to submit questions for Mr. Ying in advance to Senior Government Affairs Manager Ms. Helei Fu hlfu@europeanchamber.com.cn by August 7 COB.
This off-the-record event is in Chinese only.
