Sensitive personal information is an important concept under China's Personal Information Protection Law. With the release of the Provisions on the Promoting and Regulating of Cross-border Data Flows, the identification of sensitive personal information is even more relevant to the application of compliance paths for the export of personal information. On 11 June 2024, the National Technical Committee 260 on Cybersecurity of Standardisation Administration of China (the “TC260”) issued the technical document "Cybersecurity Standard Practice Guidelines -Guidelines for Identification of Sensitive Personal Information (Draft for Public Comments), which aims to provide clearer and more specific guidance on the protection of sensitive personal information.

In order to help members better understand the core content of the draft guideline and discuss the identification, handling and protection of sensitive personal information, as well as the compliance requirements involved in the whole life cycle, the European Chamber is honoured to invite Mr. Cai Peng, partner of Zhonglun Law Firm, to share his views on this topic.
