We are delighted to invite you to our next Working Group Meeting on 18 March, co-organised by the European Chamber and String Capital, Investment and Finance Committee of China Energy Storage Alliance (CNEAS), ENetF. In this meeting, Mr. TAO Ye from the Energy Research Institute under NDRC, Mr. WAN Lin and Ms. LI Yue from String Capital will analyse the latest macro trends and policies on energy development, aiming at helping European companies in China compare and make informed choices among the multiple paths and measures toward their net-zero carbon goal. The meeting will take place offline at the European Chamber Beijing office on 18th March from 14:30-16:40. Online access will be offered to members not able to attend in person.

Dear Members,

The Rail Working Group is pleased to invite you to the meeting on Status and Prospect of Rail Investment along the Belt and Road and 2021-2022 chair elections and Position Paper discussion, which is taking place on Thursday, 18th March, 10:00 – 12:00 at the Chamber Beijing Office, as well as online via Zoom. Please note that the meeting language will be in Chinese. Agenda will be updated.

The first part of this meeting will consist of a sharing by Dr Jiang Hongbin from PwC (bio attached), the Partner of Capital Project & Infrastructure (CP&I), Integrated Urban
Services in PwC Beijing Office. He has 27 years of experience in capital project and infrastructure development, financing, and management. Dr. Jiang has been engaged in international project development, project financing and project management for over two decades in more than 30 countries including Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, Belize, Peru, etc., and has continued to work in related sectors after returning China.

The second part of this meeting will consist of the 2021-2022 chair elections and Position Paper discussion. Candidates running for the elections will introduce themselves and their goals for the Compliance Working Group over the following 12 months. The key recommendations from our rail industry will be extensively discussed.

At this meeting, Ester Cañada Amela, European Affairs Manager at the European Chamber, will present an overview of the recently concluded-in-principle EU-China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI) and its current status. She will also dwell on market openings specifically for the construction sector and what members can make of it.

In this meeting, we will also discuss the Construction Working Group Position Paper 2021/22 and hold 2021-2022 WG Chair Elections. The Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, which includes a leadership role in the drafting of the WG Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering Working Group meetings.
