At the moment it is hard to focus on anything other than the US elections, given the powerful geopolitical implications the results will bring. A Biden win would likely mean an increase in democratic left-wing influence in US politics, possibly a revival of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and an EU-US coordinated approach towards China, amongst numerous other possibilities. A Trump win would likely mean the status quo, aside from uncertainty and hundreds of tweets, further decoupling and deterioration of EU-US alliance.

Although the pandemic abruptly halted Asia’s momentum as a rising economy, after this crisis the region plans to be well on its way to making the ‘Asian Century’ a reality. Excluding newly industrialized economies in Asia, regional growth is estimated at 6.6% in 2021, according to the Asian Development Bank. The European Chamber is delighted to hold its second Medical Device Forum On 29th October in Beijing, co-hosted by the European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical and Healthcare IT Industry (COCIR), under the theme “The ‘New Normal’ in the Post-COVID-19 Era: Innovation Drives ‘Healthy China’”.
