China's three competition authorities (specialized divisions within the Ministry of Commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce), corporate governance regulatory (the Administration of Industry and Commerce), product quality organization (AQSIQ), and several other regulatory bodies have now been consolidated into the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR). This new mega-enforcement agency is likely to have a profound impact on Chinese law enforcement.
