China’s MEE has issued guidelines to guide the development of TWO HIGH projects - projects with HIGH energy use and HIGH carbon emissions, in order to accomplish its goals of bringing down its carbon emission to a peak by 2030 and reaching carbon neutrality by 2060. The TWO HIGH policy aims to reduce energy consumption by spurring companies to innovate on their process and improve the energy efficiency. Industries like coal, petrochemical, chemical, steel, non-ferrous metal smelting, construction materials are the main focus.

It is more common for companies involving in a public opinion crisis. A response to the public is necessary. Some companies accept media interviews, some send lawyer letters to media, and some post statements on their official websites and official accounts.
However, there are very few successful cases that can calm the public opinion with a single response. More often, the response got no attention at all, or even worse, the response triggers a new round of public discussion in a negative way. In this case, some companies are rather like to keep silent, which means giving up the chance of explanation.
In this lesson, we select and analyze the successful public opinion response of some crisis. By doing so, we will learn how to respond to public opinion.

On 28th October 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the Administrative Regulation on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturer and Product Admission (Draft for Comments) (Administrative Regulation on Admission). Five days later, the MIIT and the Ministry of Public Security jointly issued the Notice on Conducting Pilot Work of ICV Access and On-road Driving (Draft for Comment) (Draft Pilot Notice). The release of these two draft regulations is of great significance for future development of China’s auto industry, in particular that of smart vehicles.
