Dear Human Resource Working Group (HR WG) Members,
After a busy 2018, when we have tackled the new talent (R) visa and the updated Foreigner’s Work Permit policies, equality in the workplace, the new Individual Income Tax Law and internship visa policies, among other topics, the Human Resources Working Group is delighted to invite you to the first WG meeting of the new year, which will take place on Friday, 22nd March 2019, from 14:00 to 16:00. During this kick-off meeting, we will review the past activity of the WG, as well as discuss about WG priorities in 2019. Members are encouraged to join the discussion and provide input on the WG’s 2019 activity, advocacy and Position Paper priorities.
With this occasion, the 2019 Human Resources Working Group Chairs election will be held. The Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the WG, having a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and coordinating WG meetings and other activities.
Should you wish to put your name forward for the Chairs election or nominate a candidate, please send a short biography and a motivation letter, stating whether you intend to run for Chair or Vice Chair and your plans to promote the working group toMs. Rachel Chen in South China at rchen@europeanchamber.com.cn by Friday, 15th March 2019, COB.
The meeting will be held simultaneously in the Shanghai and South China offices via video conference system on Friday, 22nd March 2019, from 14:00 to 16:00.

Chairs Election Policy:
In accordance with European Chamber internal guidelines, a separate email will be sent to Working Group members prior to the election, with the biographies and motivation letters of all candidates attached. Regarding the elections voting procedure, there will be one vote per company, which must be conducted in person at the WG meeting after each candidate has had the opportunity to give a short speech on why they would like to run for election. The duration of the term for both Chairs and Vice Chairs is one year. All elected Chairpersons must sign the attached Code of Conduct, following election. We encourage as many of our members as possible to attend the meeting to have their say in the leadership and representation of the Human Resources Working Group in the year ahead.
