The Shanghai Chapter Board Election where Shanghai Chapter Chair of the Board (1), Vice Chair (2) and Shanghai Chapter Board positions (4) are elected, for a two-year term (2019-2021), will take place on Thursday 23rd May 2019 at 5.00pm at the Westin Bund Center Shanghai.
This year you will also have the opportunity to meet the Candidates on 16th May at 4.00pm at European Chamber Shanghai Chapter at Unit 2204, Shui On Plaza, 333 Huai Hai Zhong Road, Shanghai 200021. This special occasion will bring together members of the European Chamber. Candidates will take this opportunity to get to know our members and express their interest in joining the Shanghai Chapter Board. You can register to the Meet the Candidates event in this link.

Who can run for Shanghai Chapter Board elections?
1. Chair (1 position) – Any representative of a corporate member of the European Chamber
2. Vice Chair (2 positions) - Any representative of a corporate member of the European Chamber
3. Board Member (4 positions) – Any representative of a corporate member of the European Chamber and any individual
member (Please note that individual members need a pre-approval from the Executive Committee of the European
Chamber to run for this position).
The Chair, Vice Chairs and Board members shall be elected for a two-year term and shall serve for those two years (2019-2021)
Who can vote?
You can vote at the elections if you:
1.a Are a designated representative (the main contact between the European Chamber and your company), or
1.b Are an individual member and
2. Paid the membership fee for the year 2019 and have no outstanding payment (please make sure that the Chamber has received and confirmed your membership payment and any other outstanding payment by no later than Wednesday, 22nd May 2019, 9am.)
How can I vote?
The Articles of Association approved during the AGM in 2016 have made the AGM and local board elections more convenient and practical for our members by introducing the e-voting form. You are now welcome to cast your vote either in person, or by e-voting, or designating a proxy to vote on your behalf. Please see below more information regarding each voting modality:
1) In person by secret ballot at the election venue on 23rd May 2019. Please note that even if you have voting rights confirmed by the Secretariat of the Chamber, you must have registered for the Shanghai Chapter Board Elections by Wednesday , 22nd May 2019, 5pm in order to exercise this vote.
2) Electronic voting: Open from 8th May, 10am to 22nd May 2019, 10am by accessing a designated link using your European Chamber user account email. Please note that the voting information will be sent to the designated representative of your company once the candidates have been confirmed
3) Assign a proxy to vote on your behalf by 22nd May, 5pm. Please fill in the proxy form and send a scanned copy to Mrs Laura Alvarez Mendivil at lamendivil@europeanchamber.com.cn, or in person at the Chamber office in Shanghai (Unit 2204, Shui On Plaza, 333 Huai Hai Zhong Road, Shanghai).
The proxy must be a colleague from your own legal entity. This requirement has only one exception for the Individual member, who may give his/her proxy to another individual member/corporate member in Shanghai.
Proxies received after the deadline and in a format different from those listed above won’t be accepted
How can I run for elections?
The nomination period will open on 10th April 2019, and will close on 3rd May, 6pm.

Dr. Ioana Kraft
Dr. Ioana Kraft
Ioana has been based in Shanghai since 2003 where she worked for the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (European Chamber) from 2004 to 2022. From 2009 to 2022 she served as General Manager of the Chamber’s Shanghai Chapter and was responsible for implementation and development of European Chamber objectives, visibility, and advocacy activities on a regional level in Shanghai and neighbouring regions.
Ioana is currently an Associate Director with X-PM Transition Partners, a leading European Executive Interim and Transition Management firm with teams in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. X-PM is part of the WIL group, a network of 13 firms operating in 35 countries that deliver interim and transition solutions to clients around the world and offers a unique international “multi-sourcing” model that leverages the assets of each member firm and ensures the best assignments globally.
A German-qualified lawyer, Ioana practiced with a German law firm in Shanghai from 2003 and 2004. She also holds a PhD degree in law from Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf, where she worked from 1999 to 2003 as a Senior Research Assistant focussing on the areas of Civil Law, Insurance Law, Comparative Law, International Private Law and Labour Law.
Mr. Carlo Diego D’Andrea
Mr. Carlo Diego D’Andrea
Founder and Managing Partner of D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel, and Founder of DP Group.
Graduated in Law at the University of Teramo (Italy), he then subsequently obtained a Masters’ degree in Corporate Advisor at LUISS University in Rome and a Diploma in Chinese Studies at Nanjing Normal University and is a member of the Italian Bar Association.
Mr. D’Andrea arrived in China in 2005 and is fluent in Italian (mother tongue), English, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. He mainly deals with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, assistance in ODI/FDI and intellectual property rights.
He is also acting as Vice President of the European Chamber and Chair of the Shanghai Chapter.
