Please note that this event has been cancelled in Shanghai while the Beijing session will still take place.
With growing amounts of data being collected and generated, the automotive industry is becoming increasingly data driven, and therefore subject to the comprehensive data regulatory framework that China is currently developing. Most recently on 24 May 2019, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) released the Cybersecurity Review Measures (Draft for Comments), making it clear that the leakage, loss or cross-border transfer of large amounts of personal information and important data as a result of network product and service purchases would trigger the cybersecurity review. Four days later, on 28th May, the draft Administrative Measures on Data Security was released for public consultation, stipulating a series of obligations that network operators should fulfil when collecting and using personal information and important data.
Against this backdrop, the European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the fourth session of our Cybersecurity Compliance Series: Data Protection in Automotive Industry, taking place on Tuesday 25 June, from 16h to 18h at the European Chamber’s office in Beijing and Shanghai (via video). We will have the pleasure to meet with two experts on data security: Ning Xuanfeng, senior partner at King & Wood Mallesons and He Yanzhe from China Electronics Standardisation Institute (CESI).
At this meeting, Ning will elaborate on the keys and difficulties of complying with data collection and use requirements in the automotive industry. He Yanzhe, one of the lead drafters of various Chinese data protection and cross-border data transfer standards, will give an introduction to recent developments relating to national data protection regulations and standards and their application in the automotive industry. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session.
If you would like to participate in this meeting, please register online, or with (Ms) Peipei Qu in Beijing at intern004@europeanchamber.com.cn or (Ms) Sitong He in Shanghai at sthe@europeanchamber.com.cn by Monday 24th June COB.
