Dear Working Group Members,
The Finance & Taxation and Investment Working Groups cordially invite you to attend a presentation and discussion on Greater Bay Area incentives, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, 23rd August 2019, from 9:30 to 11:30.
In February 2019, Chinese policymakers unveiled the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, laying out a road map to implement the national reform strategy that the central leadership devised in July 2017. The Plan aims to develop the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (hereinafter GBA) by integrating Hong Kong, Macau, and nine Guangdong cities into a world-class financial and technological cluster.
This joint Working Group meeting examines GBA opportunities as they relate specifically to finance and investment. It brings together a Risk Advisory Partner of Deloitte and a Guangzhou Government Official to discuss the business outlook under Beijing’s ambitious plan to turn the region into an economic powerhouse rivalling Silicon Valley.
For Chamber members looking to invest or expand operations on the mainland, this meeting offers a timely opportunity to consider the ways in which the GBA initiative aims to propel economic growth across the key sectors of trade, innovation, and financial services.
Please note that the joint meeting is to be held simultaneously in Beijing, Shanghai, and South China through video conference.
