The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China Southwest China Chapter is delighted to invite you to join the The Fifth International High-Level Forum on Sustainable Urban Development in Chengdu.
Background
Climate change is a global challenge that calls for global commitment and action. The international community has reached a consensus on the need to transition to a post-carbon society and economy. China has already pledged to reach peak carbon emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. Underscoring the global urgency, the UN Secretary General called for carbon neutrality by 2050.
This year’s Fifth International High-Level Forum on Sustainable Urban Development, co-hosted as before by the China Center for Urban Development (CCUD), UN-Habitat and the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, will be dedicated to exploring urban pathways to carbon neutrality.
The Forum aims to explore innovative pathways and modalities for cooperation for global and local climate action to achieve green, inclusive and balanced development in cities and regions around the world.
With Chengdu as the venue, the theme of this year’s Forum, “Park Cities for a Carbon-Neutral Future”, we hope to share ideas, practices and wisdom for sustainable development at home and abroad.
Hereby we sincerely invite you to attend this forum.
