Dear Investment Working Group Member,
As the European Chamber’s tradition, it is the time of the year to hold the annual chair/vice-chairs election for the Investment Working Group to lead the working group affairs for the next 12 months.
The election will take place on 27th March at 17:00-18:30 at the European Chamber Shanghai Office and online. It is encouraged that all participants, candidates in particular, attend the meeting onsite. However, the online dial-in option is also open for those who cannot join in person.

Working Group members interested in running for this year’s Chair elections, should take notice of the following:
- Roles and Responsibilities
The National Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, including a leadership role in drafting the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are a representative with relevant expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the Working Group. Previous participation in the Working Group is essential. Before applying for the position of Chair or Vice Chair, we recommend that you obtain approval from your company.
- Positions
One National Chair and Two Vice Chairs are open for candidacy.
- Application
The Chair and Vice Chairs should represent key issues of the industry, we therefore encourage candidates who have relevant background and expertise to run.
If you are interested in running for the position, please refer to the attached Starter Kit and submit the following materials to me (Kate Han) at khan@europeanchamber.com.cn no later than 23rd March.

• Motivation letter on why you wish to be elected Chair or Vice Chair, including:
- The position you are planning on running.
- Why you wish to be elected Chair or Vice Chair.
- How your background and experience match the role.
- The goals you have for the Working Group for the following 12 months.
- How you intend to utilize or share professional resources for the benefit of the working group.
- Whether you hold a position in another Chamber or industry association.
