The European Chamber's latest report, Business Confidence Survey 2024, reveals a decline in business confidence among its members in recent years, primarily due to the global economic slowdown and increasing commercial politicization. Although member responses vary, distinct trends are emerging—some companies are opting to penetrate the Chinese market further, while many others are considering relocating part of their investments and operations outside China to diversify their supply chains in regions such as Europe, India, and Southeast Asia. Regardless of the strategy adopted, the impact on the existing workforce is inevitable. Therefore, corporate management must develop more rational and innovative strategies to adapt to the constantly changing HR environment and ensure the stability and development of their teams.
At this year’s annual Human Resources Conference, the European Chamber South China Chapter invites general managers and HR leaders from multinational and small-to-medium-sized companies to discuss key strategies for HR teams to adjust to China's economic downturn and shifting landscape. Speakers will explore the impact of business changes on HR plans for 2024/2025 and how HR can better support business growth in China. The conference will also examine how digital tools and AI technologies can enhance efficiency, elevate the employee experience, and drive organizational transformation.
This event aims to provide a platform for industry leaders and HR professionals to share ideas and gain valuable insights to improve HR practices and the working lives of employees. By addressing current HR challenges and emerging trends, the conference seeks to equip HR professionals with the tools and strategies needed to thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
