European Chamber is excited to announce that our Chamber member ISLC is expanding their businesses, and partnered with UCC on the DBA program's launching in China.
This collaboration aims to pursue a doctoral degree (Doctorate of Business Administration), which allows the students to master their chosen area of study and contribute to the creation of new knowledge.
DBA Program
The DBA (Doctorate of Business Administration) Degree is a doctoral research programme running over 48 months. The Practitioner Doctorate programme is delivered on a cohort basis only. This emphasises the participatory ethos and the collaborative nature of learning appropriate to professional practice development.
The Business School at University College Cork is pleased to work with ISLC (Institute of Strategic Leadership and Coaching) towards delivering the programme in 2024.
The programme is delivered across a set of structured modules to facilitate delivery of a research thesis that adds to knowledge. From the first year of the programme, candidates engage in applied research. The research targets an organisational challenge and proposes solution(s) through research carried out over four years.
Welcome from The Dean
Hello from Cork University Business School (CUBS) and thank you for your interest in our DBA doctoral programme at University College Cork, Ireland. With our double accreditations we are among the top 200 business schools in the world, based on over 100 years of respected and recognized business education in University College Cork.
Pursuing a doctoral degree with us allows you to master your chosen area of study and contribute to the creation of new knowledge. We know that practitioners on the ultimate step of their higher education journey are motivated to develop and put this knowledge into practice. Our doctoral programmes are designed to meet such plans and ambitions. All our programmes offer a range of learning experiences through applied class work, assessment through individual assignments and collaborative projects, and discussions with leading practitioners and academics. We work on the principle that we owe it to our students to challenge them so we can support them in achieving their full potential across each phase of their career and transitions in professional life. In the crucial selection of a student cohort for doctoral study, we look for curious practitioners who are creative in developing solutions, and who are persistent in the face of challenging problems. We strive to have a diverse group of students in our programme - diversity in backgrounds, interests, and ideas. In such a way, our students learn from each other as well as through our faculty guidance and supervision.
Choosing to engage in doctoral study with us offers faculty expertise across a broad disciplinary space with areas of specialisation evident in our multi-disciplinary research centres – including Human Resources, Global Competitiveness, Resilience & Business Continuity, Financial Services Innovation, Sports Economics & Law, Health Information Systems, Investment Research Co-operative Studies, Spatial and Regional Economics, among others. Testament to the quality of faculty and research, CUBS attracts strong research funding, especially from industry sources.
We look forward to facilitating your career development.
Wishing you every success
