In China, more than 60% of consumers consider health to be the top priority in their daily lives; Compared to a year ago, they are paying more attention to their health. More notably, people are willing to increase health-related spending if overall consumption levels decline.

As China continues to prioritise health and innovation, Nansha District of Guangzhou is emerging as a burgeoning hub of biomedical industry. Building on the momentum of the "Overall development plan of Nansha, Guangzhou," Nansha district is leveraging favorable policies to become a key player in the biomedical sector.

In April 2024, Nansha released the "Support Measures for Promoting the High-quality Development of the Biomedicine Industry in Guangzhou Nansha," supporting the development of Nansha biomedicine companies in areas such as clinical trials and scenario applications. In September 2024, the Ministry of Commerce, the National Health Commission, and the National Medical Products Administration issued a notice to launch a pilot program for expanded openness in the medical field. In regions like the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, foreign enterprises are allowed to engage in the development and application of human stem cell, gene diagnosis and therapeutic technologies for product registration, launch, and production. Additionally, wholly foreign-owned hospitals are permitted to be established in cities such as Guangzhou. These significant measures have been rolled out in succession, accelerating the aggregation and realisation of high-level opening-up development achievements in Guangzhou Nansha.

This event aims to showcase Nansha’s unique development opportunities and growth potential, highlighting recent industry developments and fostering strategic collaboration between the Yangtze River Delta, the Greater Bay Area, and global markets. This event is a prime opportunity for biomedical enterprises to engage with Nansha’s dynamic business environment, supported by robust policies and a commitment to innovation. We are inviting Guangzhou Municipla Health Commission, Guangzhou Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, Guangzhou Municipla Healthcare Securities Bureau, Office of Canton Investment Development Commission and People's Government of Nansha District.
